| The Faeroes are continuing 'traditional' whaling; when large groups
of Pilot whales pass the islands during July-August on their northward
migration, 1-2000 of them are locally killed and slaughtered on
their beaches each year in a cruelsome way. At these times you may
see red seas around the islands.
